The Role
Airborne Surveillance Control and Intelligence Systems Program Office (ASCISPO), located at RAAF Base Williamtown, NSW, RAAF Base Edinburgh, SA, performs sustainment, and major capability upgrades for the Air Forces fleet of E-7A Wedgetail and MC-55A Peregrine systems.
As the APS 6 Security Manager, you are responsible to deliver complex Security work and provide advice within an integrated workforce.
- You will be required to have in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and policy.
- You are required to exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy for Security.
- You will be engaged to deliver complex problem solving and issues management pertaining to security that impact on strategic, political or operational outcomes for Defence.
- You will need effective people management skills to lead a small team and be accountable to set work priorities and manage workflows.
- You are expected to build your team’s knowledge and capability.
- You will be responsible for actively managing key stakeholder relationships and engagement in relation to complex or sensitive security matters.
- You will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

Our Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills to achieve protective Security objectives through the production of quality reports, briefs, security risk assessments and in the delivery of training and awareness sessions.
- Well-developed understanding of security, IT systems functionality, hardware and software product knowledge to apply to security risk context.
- An ability to analyse, interpret and translate legislation, policy and processes to provide quality advice and assistance on complex security matters, whilst being innovative to enable continuous improvement.
- Well-developed organisational skills, to prioritise, use initiative, self-motivate and work under limited supervision to deliver business outputs in a timely manner.
- People management skills to lead and motivate a small team to set work priorities, manage workflows and build their knowledge and capability.
