About the Role:
Reporting directly to the Branch Service Manager, the Field Service Manager is responsible for managing and leading the operational activities of their allocated Field Service Team. As a Field Service Manager, you will ensure that your team is meeting relevant KPIs, working to TMHA standards and addressing customer needs in a safe, efficient and effective manner throughout the field.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the management, direction and leadership of the Field Service Technicians and Field Service Controller within your team.
- Manage and ensure the booking, scheduling, allocating services and maintenance in the field is done in a professional manner and in accordance with the requirements of the relevant Australian Standards and company policies.
- Along with the team leader, provide support and guidance for complex job orders
- Plan, coordinate and manage training for the Field Service Team
- Monitor and control costs for rental equipment within the allocated budgets
- Support other Field Service Managers as a backup when required
- Ensure that Field Service activities meet company safety standards and comply with applicable laws, regulations and standards.
- Manage and approve timesheets within the time and attendance system for your team
Skills and Experience Required:
- Trade Qualification – Heavy Plant, Motor Mechanic, Auto electrics or similar/relevant
- Extensive experience as a technician in the Material Handling Industry or similar/relevant industry
- Comprehensive product knowledge with the ability to provide and understand technical explanations
- Strong leadership and management skills - experience leading a team, mentoring and guiding teams to achieve outcomes, experience in dispute resolution and performance issues.
- Advanced communication skills (written and oral) and an ability to negotiate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- High level of computer literacy; utilising business software applications and service operations components of ERP system
- Strong organisational and time management skills
